Cats Eat Mud

Natural world Logic
should be the same
to all the species,
.................... right?
animals and people
perceivce a phenomina
and then act accordingly
especially
in their own best intrerest,
.....................right?

Tonight Jinky came in
from an adventure
after the rain
completrely caked in mud
like right up to his little cat armpits,
legpits or whatever they are called
and he refused to
let me sponge him clean'
or even carefully
remove the excess blobs
No he prefered to lick it off'
AKA...
eat a huge pile of wet mud
from his own fur
and I watched - he swallowed it
at least a quarter cup of fresh mud
went down like guacamole
so a dedicated carnivoire eats mud..
chooses to on his leisure hours
he has lots of food
and a trusted groomer,
sponge in hand ready to assist
but no- he prefers to eat mud
I learn something new everyday
if he was human sized
that would be
the equivelant of eating
a cereal bowl of gritty cold mud
extreeme mud chugging
I know cats eat some grass
to supplimet their diets
but eating so much mud ?
thats a nutritional mystery
what special life sustaining nutrients
are available from the clay
of a construction site ?
he didn't spit any out at all
and none fell on the newspaper
he was sitting on
I watched very carefully
all that mud went happily
down his little red throat
and to no harm at all
......hmmmm......
anyone up for a big bowl
of cold mud after a hard days work ?
how about a piece of toast then?
which is powdered grass seed
spoiled by yeast
then set on fire
