Tuesday, May. 22, 2007 - 11:35 p.m. Glowing Report As I worked in my studio Jinky slept most of nthe day in the box of towels. Ho hum.. not much happening..maybe life is getting managable for a seven month olf kitten . I thought today would be a day that i wouldn't have to write an entry about Jinky. I thought a whole day would pass and everything would be fine. Simple As I was shutting down to get to bed a strange car drive in my driveway with its super duper strong power high beams on, like many times brighter than anyone would normally have installed. I was expecting someone to review a design i was doing for them and figured they dropped in late tonite rather than come by special early tomorrow, No.. it was a nice blond lady with Jinky in her arms..She had noticed him playing under a streetlight up the road with a mouse while she was doing her late night power walking and thought what a cute little cat, He kept his paw on the mouse as she approached him and he was friendly to her while worrying the mouse, She powerwalked on home and discovered she was out of milk so made a late dash to the little store to get some On the way there she saw that Jinky was still playing under the streetlight still playing with the mouse,, she had to drive _around him_ because he would not get off the road. She drove off and bought her milk and drove home on the same route, She slowed right down and he didn;'t seem to be afraid of the sound of the car engine or the glare of her cars super duper headlights. She also said she was puzzled by a strange light that seemed to be coming from him, sort of a halo or something.. So she got out of her car and walked over to him. By this time the mouse was dead and glowing Jinky was glad for some live company. She was amased that he walked right over to her and jumped in her car. She looked at his tag, saw a local phone number and dialewd my number,.as an added bonus, he provided his own light.. I was online so my phone answering machine clicked on- the one with the full instructions of where to bring the precious wanderlust Jinky if he had wandered into your life' So she drove him over here and thats where I saw her incredibly powerful hiugh beam headlights flooding through the window here and illuminating the whole room. This is the sort of industrial strength lighting that Jinky chose to ignore on the road.. As she handed him over she commented that she has four cats but none of them are as friendly as this little red fellow. She looked him over and saw that he was clean and happy, had a well maintained collar and bell, clear eyes and most curious, a smiling face.. and a glow in the dark collar that he didn;t seem to mind wearing , This glow stick necklace was refreshed this evening at around 9:30 so there was still lots of light left as she drove him over here in a darkened car. She thought it was a bit science fiction to have a glow in the dark kitten, strolling around however she appreciated that it may be necessary in his case. She also told me she smelled him, as a sort of terminal cat person's quality check she said he smelled clean and happy, a sure sign he was loved and well taken care of. When he was handed back to me, he was completely at ease in her arms, and accepted the transfer with no resistance, and when I let him down to the ground walked into the house here and finished up his supper Playing in the dark on the road,, at least he smells good " what a nice bright neck you have Gramma " " all the better to smell you with, my dear "
