Ankles of Destiny

Cats swim around peoples ankles
Its just something that cats do
When Jinky was really small
he would look out the window
and watch the cat across the street
swim around the ankles
of the woman who keeps her
whenever the woman walked
up her driveway
and her lady cat was there
it was their special greeting
and a guaranteed excellent way
to solicit some quality head rubs
When Jinky tried that himself
on the woman
her cat ran up
and smacked him one
apparently lady cat has a copyright
on that particular action
on those particular ankles
time passes
Jinky gets big enough
to assert himself
in the cat community
and today tries to swim around
the nice womans ankles
as she stood to chat with a friend
at the end of her driveway her own
vengeful witch cat glares at Jinky
but realises he is strong enough now
to smack her one
so witch cat conceeds
those patented ankles
to Jinky to swim around
briefly, just a little
' This victory over the cat witch
was too much for Jinky
so he upgraded the ankle swim
to stand up on hind legs
and beg a standing face rub
from both women
- at the same time
the cat witch was livid
but Jinky didn't care
this was quality affection
and he was expanding his fan base
Fine
an hour later
just up the street
two construction guys
were standing at
the end of their driveway
evaluating some project
on the house beyond
and Jinky walks up a
nd swims their ankles
the men pretended
not to notice
after all, they were busy
Jinky was disappointed
they didn't love him on contact
so he stood up on his hind legs
to mooch a face rub
still they igniored him
He was outraged
to be ignored so he began
running around them in circles
and then dash between their feet
and then run some more
One guy looked at Jinky
as if he might have rabies
and sort of gently sooshed him away
with his construction boot
very kindly, after all
Jinky was annoying him
Eventually Jinky got the message
he wasn;t going to get
any arttention
so he stomped away
and settled under a bush to glare
& feel sorry for himself
this was the signal for the witch cat
to come up hersolf
and try to get the mens attention'
no sooner had she completed
but one pass of the ankle swim
then Jinky ran up at her
to shoosh her away
theses guys
may not be friendly to him'
but if they ever decided to...
the witch cat
wasn't going to get any
Cats are basically selfish
or put another way
they take care of their own intrests
25,000,000 years of cats in the world
I can imagine how selfishness
has always been a big part
of the cat community
and their approach to life on earth
NEVER say no
to a Saber Tooth Tiger
who wants to swim your ankles
