is my cat completely wonderful or not?
After two days of fierce snowstorm
nobody could get out
pets just went into hibernation mode
Taser just went into his closet of solitude
and slept for 49 hrs straight
emerging only to drink out of the bathtub
while I was in the tub
chug down some kibble
and go right back to sleep
he sort of whined to go out at 11 pm
I bet his bilge tank is overflowing
so yeah sure,
out into the drifts
to take a divine whizz
then let yourself in
when you are done sort of deal
and i went back to work
three minutes later
I heard a crash
and a flurry of chaotic fluttering
behind the fireplace
a few moments later
Taser marches in and over
to say hello
with an adult Blue Jay in his mouth..
....What the.....
he caught a bird
in the middle of the night
in winter during a storm
and blue jays are super smart
and never ever get popped by a cat
or anybody else
at the best of times..
but Taser managed to score
absolute giant bigtime
taking down one of these
size large screaming
winged blue geniuses
that is amazing for a cat to do that
I figure its on par with a human being ...
winning 35 million dollars in the lottery
on the way to picking up
theNobel prize
for discovering a new clean cheap
energy source from garbage
when he meets his lifetime soullmate-
who is beautiful loving and intelligent but blind
in the elevator up to the banquet
while an total eclipse of the sun
just wraps up..
as lightening strikes the ground
a metre away and miraculously
restores the soulmates' vision to 20/20
as a UFO appears overhead
to announce life on mars
a cure for cancer
and free high speed
internet connections
for everybody forever
ya, that sort of fortunate
if you're a cat-- in 2009
catching a Blue Jay in Winter
at night- during a blizzard
is a rare and beautiful thing
that us mere mortal bi peds
cannot even fathom
just how wonderful it is..
and he is looking
so very proud and pleased
bursting with animal pride
drunk on his own accomplishment
blinking ever so slowly
purring like a shop vac
and he did it... his way--
if it can get any better than this'
please let me know immediatly
---but I won;t believe you
Heaven, should it ever receive us
is probably like that every day
man,
are we ever
ready to receive
our boarding pass
