Jump For Joy

More people off themseves
in the days after Valentines day
than at any other time of the year
Maybe they just
never connected
like they had hoped
or were not at ease
with their portion
in this life
And who knows
how many just
drink/dope/dance etc
themselves into
functional numbness
who are not
motivated enough
..to
......jump
and if they _do jump
then somebody else
has to sweep them up
What a dreadful job
that must be..-
- sweeping up
after a
quitter in paradise
But everybody
counts the same
in the end
and if only
they would know that
before that point
of no return
ha ha
not to dwell on gloomy
ha ha ha
but this wonderful
gift of life
is only
for the brave
And its amazing
who turned out to be brave
and who turned out
to just be
cleverly defending doubt
La La La the cardinals sing
every morning at dawn
because they made it
through the night once again
naked, roofless
and with no store of food
and yet they sing with
gladness in uncertainty
that's brave
