set up set back
I have
psyched myself
into moving on
without much droop
I will not allow
disappointment
to make me disregard
someone I made friends with
I will just have to be
a little more careful
in the trust dept.
getting real
is the goal,
no matter
what else transpires
along the way
I was walking towards
happiness anyway
I might as well run
I am glad
I had a
plan B ready
This way I can
bail out at 50,000 feet
and pull the ripcord
& float to terra firma
for a relatively soft landing
by passing
the more desperate option
of having to crash
just to get out of
that jumbojet of humiliation
I threw her valentine away
but ate the chocolate
afterall..
it was still mine
