Emery was arrested in 2005, that was 5 years ago, The sheer volume of evidence against him and the thousands of the retail criminal contacts his seized computers yielded to enforcement agencies around the world were of much more value to police than boxing up his stoned little body
That Motormouth Marc was lead out on a dog-leash bail to sniff the butt of every BC pot grower not only yielded the police more criminal suspects than ever before,A freshly neutered revolutionary who just won;t shut up and the opportunity to vacuum out as much of his hidden sneakily laundered money as possible took a bit of time to get on top of. .
These delays only made it easier for the DEA to have his terrified co accused drive to the USA and betray Emery in great detail, thus completely close the DEA case against him and who knows who else in the International Pot Bizz? Nothing like criminal conspiracy business partners looking at a decade in jail to make them sing everything they knew , and sing they did
Then Emery at the last moment himself folded and plead guilty- wow nice move cops-- Emery signed away any hope of an extradition hearing or a case review or anything that could help him. He chose to burn while Rome fiddled and the cops were more than willing to provide him with a cricket lighter
And to make sure he knew who was his boss, Emery was sent to suckie easy Vancouver city jail to break, he broke in a matter of days. Released on a huge bail, he no longer had the will or the financial gravity for any more high jinx. He cried going to suckie Vancouver jail and cried coming out, Mission accomplished at a fraction of the cost of psychoanalysis
Now here it is. months later from his release on bail, and five years since his arrest..Why did this take so long for all the pieces to end up in the soup kettle of justice?? I say the Feds did smart adding five years of institutional grief at home on top of and in advance of the five years he will be serving in a US prison. Everybody got what they wanted except Emery himself. Bingo.
in the end, Marc Emery will have received the full ten years of spanking: five from Canada the uncertain, and five from America the Strong
and all along the way he blabbed his heart out, saw his now dead and sterile " Overgrow the Government" offensive get unbolted before his eyes, his henchmen carted away or ratted out., his seed business halted on the Feds terms.. and basically the 420 movement shown for what they are-- chemically compromised retards. A job well done.The idiot who brought the Drug War to Canada will soon be a prisoner in our neighbors' basement

the later he starts his 5 year prison sentence, the later he finishes and gets deported back to a cold ash pile in the Vancouver slums, starting again at a point in life where other men are enjoying the fruits of their lifework/
