" Violence" we can pretty much
make up all by ourselves,
accessing the reptile mind
and kicking it over..
not giving a shit about anybody, especially if we are
annoyed or resentful.
Empathy in the reactive mind might never come up as an option ,,
" Empathy "can be learned,
especially by example..
curried into the imagination
by story telling, songs,
and symbolic displays.
Empathy certainly takes
a bit of work to install
and culture plays a big part,
for on its own Empathy,
is a very hard sell.
There is not a lot of empathy in nature
in fact Empathy
as an approach
to life on earth
is very un natural
Violence is still an option,
but empathy at least shifts
that response option
from primary to secondary.
" Love thy neibour as thyself "
is a profound statement :
"Love thy enemy " is downright
_ revolutionary
