Stars that Fail to Twinkle

we see pop culture stars
organizing charity drives,
that is-
convincing us
to give our money away
and some stars
perform their art
to paying audiences
proceeds to the cause,
other stars are spokesmen
for noble causes
but which millionare cuts a cheque?
I am not familiar with
any arts enriched person
giving their away
or takingup living as
" hermit in cave " --
or recognizing the value of
the occassional trim back
to their roots
restoring them to
underfunded creative
productive noble weeds
no. after pop stars go Hollywood,
they tend to manifest
their inherent flakeyness
into no0n action
- standing by meekly
as their mates flog theme cookbooks
or weight loss excercise CD's
to their star mate's fanbase ..
charity begins at home-
so somebody has to
bail out their adult children
from rehab..
but nope,
no voluntary simplicity
as did Prince Buddha or the saints..
even Marie Antoinette
besotted with roccoco excess
made a stab at
rustic simpilicity
prayer and fasting
I am not aware of
any latter day fame hog artist
who ended up a saint
or even tried
and they are
supposed to be
" special people "
