There is a beautiful huge black Persian cat
at the end of the street. he is very royal looking
When i took my kittens past walking at midnight
on dark hot summer nights
the big Persian cat would come out and greet them
His noble presence was the highlight of the walk
my kittens felt very special
blessed by an older established cat.
That all changed when for some reason t
hat big beautiful Persian cat was shaved bald from the neck back
It was done professionally likely for some medical condition
' but when that older Persian cat appeared one night
after the serious buzz
he was mad at everybody- he had no virtue fur
and was acting like an asshole to my cats.. just plain mean
He was big and they were small and don;t forget it
My kittens ran away and circled past the Persian cats; house
by running on the neighbours lawn away from his wrath
Survival meant get away from a big mean bald cat
with a lions mane face
Maybe he used to be cool
but now he's an asshole
I called that anon big cat Shaver
and we just went on another route
to walk around after midnight to explore the world
Discretion is the greater part of virtue as we all know
so some weeks later
Shavers hair had partially grown in...
and he was partially _not an asshole
but that wasn;t good enough
by autumn all his fur had grown back
and he was once again., a benevolent older cat
but my kittens were older too
and cats of any age don;t forgive easily
so their initial friendship with their one time benefactor
was ruined- forever
Now as we pass at midnight on our walks
Shaver in full furry glory just sits on his porch and stares
as the stronger younger team pass by
without even looking over at him- that asshole
Because once an asshole, maybe always an asshole
thats show bizz in the animal kingdom
Lesson here for everybody is :
don;t be an asshole
for the sake of your future
Shaver never learned that lesson
or he did too late to benefit from it
and so if Shaver is ever in trouble
and needs a cat posse to help him out in the jungle out there
I guess my cats will just watch him get beaten up
and thats that
since thats what assholes deserve
just like people
who don;t forgive
and the small window of tissue thin soilidarity closes
and we're just an other bald cat whos' fur grew back
to hide their inheirant weakness of character
' but we all know
that deep down
he/she is just another asshole
