Five Cents of History

on the 1945 Canadian five cent piece- aka Victory Nickel there is a secret message in Morse code spelled out around the perimeter of the nickle.
We would see this dot dash thing in old coins when we were kids- and a significant number of them that had been in long circulation had a big... X scratched across the Kings George's face.
I asked my dad who could understand Morse Code what the message was and why the Kings face was scratched.. his answer?
- Pacifists, Communists, Socialists, Fascists, Nationalists, Nazi sympathizers & assorted other G** Damn assholes with too much time on their hands..
