acids' greatest benefit at the beginning was to present the familiar packaged world in a new way, with doubt- the forbidden emotion - so people could separate ourselves from all that planetary hype so they could start de hypnotising themselves from TV indoctrination..
Nobody " ..didn't watch tv.. " by choice, and everybody who could did. The poor bought TVs before food and clothing, the third world peeped in windows to catch a few glimpses of crap..life before acid was monotone creepy.. thats a > fact.
Hippies were for the most part fake.
It was a look that was for sale.The squeeze toy rebel comeon was hijacked and sold in magazines.
The only authentics were the punks, as they became, by choice everything commerce shrank away from. They hated hippies who were buying into the devils game.. then the huge Corporations diversified rebranded themselves as green and alternative...
